On Thursday, December 4th there will be a screening “Paraguay fue Noticia” (Paraguay in the Headlines), a documentary about the incident and subsequent trial. The documentary, which was recently screened at the Festival Dok Leipzig in Germany, includes exclusive interviews with the owner of Ycuá Bolaños.
The screening will take place at Planta Alta on the corner of Caballero and Mariscal Estigarribia (across from the Chaco Hotel in the “centro”) at 8pm.

ABC Color has a website dedicated to information about the Ycuá Bolaños tragedy. It is a little overwhelming both in the amount of content as well as, understandably, the subject matter.
El domingo, 1ro de agosto del 2004 el supermercado Ycuá Bolaños se incendió, desatándose así una de las peores tragedias paraguayas de recientes años. Según testigos fidedignos, el dueño del supermercado (que incluía un patio de comidas y area de diversión) ordenó que todas las salidas fueran bloqueadas para así impedir robos mientras clientes huían del incendio. Alrededor de 400 personas murieron y otros 500 quedaron heridos.
Este jueves, 4 de diciembre habrá una presentación de “Paraguay fue Noticia,” un documental sobre el incidente y el juicio subsequente. El mismo fue recientemente mostrado en el Festival Dok Leipzig en Alemania. Incluye entrevistas exclusivas con los el dueño de Ycuá Bolaños.
La presentación se llevará al cabo en Planta Alta a las 20 hs ubicada en la esquina de Caballero y Mariscal Estigarribia (en frente del Hotel Chaco en el “centro”).
En el sitio de web de Kinemultimedia (quienes lo realizaron) se puede ver el reparto del documental con o sin subtítulos. A su vez pueden ser apreciados repartos de otros proyectos de Kinemultimedia, los cuales se ven muy interesantes.
ABC Color tiene un sitio de web dedicado a información sobre la tragedia . Es un poco abrumador tanto por la cantidad de información además como por el contenido mismo.
