What exactly is “The Expo”? The enormous fair’s full name says it all: “International Livestock, Industry, Agriculture, Trade and Services Expo-fair.” That would be the “International Cattle Farming, Industry, Agriculture, Commerce and Services Fair.” Yup, that just about covers it – you can see anything and everything at La Expo. The first Expo took place in 1975 and was held sporadically until 1988 after which point it has been held yearly. This year´s Expo will be held from July 10th to the 25th. La Rural is located at kilometer 14 of the Ruta Transchaco in Mariano Roque Alonzo, about 20 minutes by car and 40 by bus from the center of Asuncion.
